  • 1 cup cranberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 orange medium, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed, light
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 cloves whole

Equipment

  • 1 6-quart slow cooker

Method

  1. Pour the apple cider and cranberry juice cocktail into a 6-quart slow cooker.
  2. Stir in the cranberries and brown sugar.
  3. Add the orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 4 hours or HIGH for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until steaming and the cranberries have burst.
  5. Strain out the fruit and spices.

Notes

For a stronger spice flavor, let the cider sit in the slow cooker on warm before straining. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 4 days; freeze for up to 3 months and reheat gently.
